1 / 2 Measure of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University No. 6/2020 ENSURING THE POSSIBILITY OF COMPLETING A DEGREE FOR STUDENTS OF FIELDS OF STUDY In accordance with § 28 (1) of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Modification and Amendment of Other Acts (Higher Education Act), as later amended (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”), I issue the following Measure: Section 1 Introductory provisions, subject matter (1) In accordance with the provisions of Section II of Act No. 137/2016 Coll., amending Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to Other Acts (Higher Education Act), as amended, and certain other legislation, studies in degree programmes divided into fields of study may be carried out until 31 December 2024 at the latest. (2) In accordance with Masaryk University Measure No. 2/2019, this measure lays down the rules of the procedure by which the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as the “FF MU”) will ensure that students from degree programmes divided into fields of study (hereinafter referred to as “fields of study”) have the opportunity to continue their studies in the same or similar degree programme in cases when the accreditation of a field of study expires, as well as conditions for the transfer of students from fields of study to degree programmes implemented on the basis of the authorization to implement a degree programme arising from the approval of the Masaryk University Internal Evaluation Board (hereinafter referred to as “successor degree programmes”). Section 2 List of fields of study for transfer for transferring students to successor degree programmes (1) The transfer of students to successor degree programmes will be carried out in the following fields of study: a) English Linguistics (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) b) English Language (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech/English) c) Archaeology (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) d) Czech Literature (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) e) Czech Language (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) 2/ 3 f) Ancient History (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) g) Aesthetics and Culture Studies (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) h) Germanic Languages (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech/German) i) Germanic Literatures (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech/German) j) Medieval Latin and Literature (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech/English) k) Literature in English (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech/English) l) General Linguistics (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) m) Romance Languages (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) n) Romance Literatures (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) o) Hellenic Studies (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) p) Theory and History of Art (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) q) Narratology (doctoral type, full-time/combined mode, language Czech) (2) The successor degree programmes for the individual fields of study listed in subsection 1 of this Section are set out in the List of Fields of Study for the Transfer of Students to Successor Degree Programmes, which is attached as Annex 1 to this measure. Section 3 Deadline for the transfer of students to successor degree programme The deadline for the transfer of students from fields of study to successor degree programmes is 1 September 2020, uniformly for all fields of study listed in Section 2 of this measure. Section 4 Date of termination of the accreditation of fields of study For all fields of study listed in Section 2 of this measure, termination of accreditation is proposed for 1 September 2022. 3/ 3 Section 5 Continuation of studies in other fields of study For fields of study regarding which a decision has not been made on their transfer to a successor degree programme pursuant to Section 2 of this measure or on the subsequent termination of the accreditation of the field of study, such field of study shall continue until the Spring 2024 term. If the student does not complete their studies by the end of the Spring 2024 term, their studies shall be transferred to the successor degree programme on the date of commencement of classes in the Autumn 2024 term. Section 6 Common provisions for transfers from fields of study (1) The transfer also applies to persons whose studies are interrupted in accordance with Section 54 of the Act and Section 13 of the Masaryk University Study and Examination Regulations. The transfer does not apply to students who are participants in termination proceedings. (2) The studies in the field of study and the subsequent studies in the successor degree programme after the transfer form a single unit. The transfer does not affect the calculation of the total study period. For the purposes of determining tuition fees and awarding scholarships, studies in a field of study are not considered unsuccessful. (3) The programme guarantor will ensure that the conditions to be fulfilled by the student in the course of their studies and upon their proper completion are not made more difficult as a result of the transfer to the successor programme, and that students graduate according to pre-existing templates for checking the progress of their studies, or according to their pre-existing individual study plans. Section 7 Final provisions (1) This Measure builds on Masaryk University Measure No. 2/2019. (2) I authorize the Vice-Dean for Science and Doctoral Studies to interpret the individual provisions hereof. (3) Compliance with this Measure shall be inspected by the Head of the Office for Studies. (4) This Measure was discussed by the FF MU Academic Senate on 7 December 2019. (5) This Measure was discussed by the FF MU Scientific Board on 12 December 2019. (6) This Measure shall enter into force on the date of signature. (7) This Measure shall enter into effect on the date of approval by the MU Scientific Board.
